The Data Operations Engineer’s role at Indeed is to play a lead role in developing a high performance data platform, integrating data from a variety of internal and external sources, in order to support data and analytics activities across Indeed’s global business functions. This is a technical role that involves defining changes to the warehouse data model, and building scalable and efficient processes to populate or modify warehouse data. The successful candidate will have hands-on data processing and data modeling experience in a “big data” environment.

Responsibilities
:
  • Understand, learn and apply new automated builds, test and deployment capabilities and help teams move towards integrating such solutions.
  • Design, propose, facilitate organizational and process improvements as needed for supporting automation and DevOps.
  • Maintain adherence to architectural and engineering standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc
  • Provide feedback regarding development and engineering methodologies, standards and leading practices.
  • Write and maintain documentation contributing to development of standards as well as efficiencies, and provide training, and consulting for data users .
  • Perform requirement and data analysis in order to support warehouse project definition.
  • Provide input and feedback to support continuous improvement in team processes.
  • Ensure end-to-end quality.
  • Troubleshoot issues along the pipeline:
    • Resolve and act as escalation and coordination point for incidents and problems related to data health
    • Root cause analysis and improvement solutions


Who You Are

  • 5+ years in a Data Engineering or Data Warehousing role
  • 2+ years coding experience (java, python, javascript, PHP preferred)
  • 2+ years hands on experience with big data technologies (Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or similar technologies)
  • Master’s Degree (or a B.S. degree with relevant industry experience) in math, statistics, computer science, or equivalent technical field
  • Expert level understanding and experience of ETL fundamentals and building efficient data pipelines
  • Expert level experience of building data platforms and BI tools to maximize business insights and self service
  • Solid understanding of Kimball design methodologies (star schema) desired
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Cloud environments (GCP, AWS, other)
  • Experience with Docker containers and Kubernetes and other types of Microservices and Container technologies highly preferred
  • CI/CD experience is a big plus
  • Interest and ability to learn other technologies and tools as needed

Salary Range Disclaimer

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Indeed salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Indeed's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include quarterly bonuses, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), an open Paid Time Off policy, and many region-specific benefits.

Dublin 74,000 - 108,000 EUR per year
